Shujun Wang was born in China and has enjoyed drawing since childhood. Her earliest artistic enlightenment came during middle school from a teacher who was a graduate student at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Later, under the guidance of her sketching instructor, she began to refine her technique and gradually developed her own style.

Wang earned her B.A. in Digital Media Arts from Lanzhou University, where she graduated at the top of her class. Her academic training exposed her to both traditional hand-drawn methods and digital practices, providing a foundation for her multifaceted creative approach.

Her achievements include the National Excellence Award at the 13th China College Students Advertising Art Competition (2021), her work being selected through a national open competition as the official poster for China’s 6th Space Day (2022), and a Merit Award in the 3x3 International Illustration Competition (2025).

Currently, Wang is pursuing an MFA in Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Her creative focus spans narrative illustration, concept art, and children’s picture book creation. Proficient in watercolor, gouache, acrylic, pencil, and digital tools such as Procreate and Photoshop, she continues to develop a distinctive artistic language that bridges traditional techniques with contemporary storytelling.
